Three years ago I visited New Orleans one week after the Hurricane Katrina with two other students and a working photographer. A week ago I re-visited New Orleans on a positive note for a Women in Photojournalism Conference. It was an eerie feeling that brought back imagery and feelings from what I remembered during time of Hurricane Katrina. Seeing the people and places that were deserted and a disaster now alive and bustling with people was a stark change. Although it was a good feeling to actually see what New Orleans might have been like before the Hurricane, it was also sad to most areas have not changed back to normal.
